Oh my goodness, just what I needed to hear delivered in a unpretentious way. How sweet it is to be drawn into the recovery of another 12 step program after 39 years in AA. It took this long to face how grating my attempts to control the AAers must be. New path for continued growth opened up as I listened to this lady.
Being a dual member myself for many years I was excited to listen to this speaker. What I heard was an AA version of the Al-anon program, complete with quotes from the Big Book of AA about the director, etc. What I’ve learned for me is that when I leave my AA program at the door of Al-anon, only then can I hear the speak recovery in my Al-anon program. It also is respect for my fellow members, for myself and for the program of Al-anon. Al-anon continues to save my sanity, making it possible for me to continue my life of sobriety with a fuller understanding of who I am and who I want to be in my life of recovery.
Great pearls.
Spoke to me
Short and sweet
