Sandy B's talks are remarkable due to the combination of funniness and depth of content (he did not need notes to talk simply, authentically, and authoritatively on a subject). Almost his most celebrated and famous talks is the 1976 Drop the Rock. talk. Fittingly, he passed away before speaking in a Florida AA Meeting. Sandy B's obituary was presented in the Washington Post.
Sandy Beach has
99 speaker tapes.

December 7, 2017 Happy anniversary sandy! You have helped me enlarge my spiritual life one day at a time. Iām so grateful we are left with your voice and words. Thank you.
Nice instruction he talks about in one of his tapes on step 10-11…
At the end of “How it Works” it says, “God could and would (relieve our alcoholism) if he were sought”. So our job is to continue seeking, and there are so many ways available to seek! Prayer, meditation, books, service.
When I get stuck in the “angst” of self-will, it nice to have that simple set of instructions to try and take actions and get a daily reprieve from my “syndrome”.
The Speaker tapes are amazing. I am able to relate. Specially about Letting Go of our Old ideas. Thanks to AA to associate with such a wonderful speaker
Listening to Sandy improves my conscious contact with my HP – peace and ease š
I stumbled upon Sandy B speaker tapes on you tube. I’m so grateful.
At that time I wasn’t going to meetings, and I felt like I couldn’t relate anymore. “Same ol same ol”
I listened and learned about working the steps and the importance of step 2 in a way that has changed my life. And I keep listening. And go to meetings.
I will be forever grateful for Sandy B and for God using him to reach out me to develop my new relationship with God.
Sunday December 7th will be Sandy Beach’s 50th anniversary. In commeration there will be two events launching Sandy’s only book, Dear Friend, which is newly published.
The Club YANA will be hosting 2-5 @ 209 S. Tampania Ave. Tampa, FL Also, Consign & Design will host 4-7 616 East Main St Branford CT http://www.wisdomofsandybeach.com
I heard today that Sandy B. died. Is that true?
With great regret, it’s true. I saw it reported on the Tampa AA Website, Sandy passed away September 28th.
What a great person he was, so influential – I know his talks provided me hours of calm reprieve and he deeply influenced me in my 11th Step practice with his suggestion, “Move awakening to the top of the list – It’s the best thing you can do for yourself..”
He will be missed deeply.
Sandy B gave a talk in L.A. entitled something like “Contemplative AA” He went on to strongly argue that the good is the enemy of the best, and the excellent support group that AA offers keeps alcoholics from moving on to an infinitely more valuable conscious contact with God. I have a copy of most of that tape. At the end of the tape, he talks of three handouts: 1) a list of significant “conscious contact with God oriented quotes from AA,” 2) a list of recommended readings; and 3) some third one which I didn’t get. He also talked about an online paper, which I have found and it is excellent.
Can you help me find the three handouts, or even what their title is? Sandy said that if anyone had a question, he’d mail them his answer, so I gather that he plans to be responsive to questions. This was when he was well into his 30+ some year of sobriety, but I don’t know the year.
Thank you for any help you can give me. Sincerely, Don K
Hi Don,
Thanks for the detailed response. I tried digging around on google but came up empty.
Can I ask you to reply with the web address of the online paper you found? Like you, I’m very curious what other resources Sandy was mentioning as deeper conscious contact with my HP is something I’m continuing to build (i.e., my mind’s best inspiration is still a bit limited, if you know what I mean š
Don, I found the tapes you mention as well as the handouts – links are located in the comments section of the page: https://www.recoveryaudio.org/speaker/sandy-b-spirituality-retreat-2008
Please take a look at the web site below-

Scroll down to the 2008 retreat and take a look in the list of talks and pdf files
I hope this helps-
Happy sobriety!
