   Ray was not my friend and never my sponser. However, I received a tape of his [Ray O’K Oregon July 1981] at 5 months sober as a Christmas gift – almost 13 years later I can say without reservation it was the BEST Christmas gift I ever received. If I am fortunate enough to get to the Big Meeting and meet Ray O’K there, I will thank him for his friendship and shake his hand as my sponser in absentia, for his words listened to by me over the years have provided both of those relationships to me and so much more. To anyone who has not had the experience, give yourself a gift that will indeed “keep on giving.”

   Raymond was a brilliant lawyer/law professor but more importantly an insightful and very humorous AA speaker whose presentation of the 12 Steps as a way of life reaches all listeners. Disclaimer: Ray was my friend and most important my Sponsor until he was called to speak at the big meeting.
